Stringwacker

I've took a 218 pound hog and a doe with my Black Widow recurve last week...but like the others I really don't know who to post pictures now that I can't use photobucket.

This is Stringwacker's hog. He shot it with Blackwidow recurve and a vintage Bear Razorhead.

Also, big doe that Stringwacker killed. Same Blackwidow recurve and a old Bear Razorhead. Good job Mark, you are starting off to a good year.

9/30-I shot a doe opening day, but didn't get a pass through.  A friend had a $5 dog who was more like a $1 dog and wasn't any help.  Found the snapped portion of arrow with good blood, but could not find a drop of it on the ground.  Looked for hours in a thicket you can barely crawl through but came up empty.

I shoot 32" arrows and it snapped at 21" so I know there's 11"+broadhead in her. I believe the backside shoulder stopped the arrow, plugged her up, and she bled out internally. It hurts having the opportunity to get a deer close enough, taking its life, and then not being able to find it and use the meat...

10/7- Had two does at 10 yards.  They snuck up on me with the drizzle and wet leaves.  They ended up getting spooked by some squirrels on the other side of the ridge running around going nuts and never offered me a broadside shot.  They sure got my heart rate up when I turned my head and they were on top of me. Maybe next time.

Hope y'all have a great season!

Sorry the dog didn't pan out. If your on Facebook they have a couple of dog groups for hunters. Just post up your county and they will send somebody out. They have tracking and catch dogs.

Well today was opening day for us Southeastern region boys and gals and it was Hot!

Hunted the morning and evening and was pretty much uneventful.  A few Squirrels and birds in the morning, no deer seen.

This evening after climbing back in my lock on and absolutely drenched from the short 1/4 mile in, in the high 80's Hot!

Nothing moving till about 1730 I heard a rushing sound coming in from my downwind side, and lo and behold there come 2 boar Hogs (assuming).  Both about 100# each, stopped after I reached for my bow and the lead began to sniff and sneeze.

After about the third time he turned and ambled off taking his friend with him    :banghead:

This was a major surprise as after about 9-10 years of hunting this land i've never seen any Hogs or any sign    :dunno:

3-4 years back one of the guys who had permission to hunt killed a sow that weighed 350# but other than that nothing.

Hopefully they'll return and i'll have another chance at them.

Weather looks nice the next few days, hopefully someone will see some movement.

I had two does within 15 yards yesterday afternoon, but I passed them up. Nice to see some movement.

I am new here to tradgang and haven't really posted anything. But I am from south Ms and got lucky killing a young doe opening morning. I shot her 10 minutes after daylight so if was a short hunt. My shot was high but it did the job. I shot her with my 47# Black Widow PSAII and a 4 blade 160 grain Zwickey Eskimo. I have pics but do not know how to post them.

Welcome and congrats on your doe. I think most people use a photo loading site and then place it here. Since photobucket went nuts I have yet to find a site I can use tho.

Thanks John for loading the picture. I am not very good at keeping up with forums, but I plan to keep up with this one since it is MS related. Lord willing I will be able to contribute another kill picture or two before seasons end.

I am also hoping to stay in touch here and possibly meet up with some of you guys at some 3D shoots next spring and summer. Having just recently gotten serious about shooting traditional , I think I am looking forward to some 3D shoots as I have hunting.

Where are you in MS Chris?

The prespring fling in Tanehill Alabama is a great shoot, and this is the last year. I'm gonna try to make it.
