My buddy and I will be leaving tomorrow for Calgary, Alberta to meet up with Chad Lenz of Savage Encounters. We booked the hunt through Bowhunting Safari Consultants a little more than a year ago. Weather looks great since there seems to be cold front coming in with light snow predicted for early in the week. Hopefully, we will be into bulls during this prime rut period. Keep you guys posted as the adventure unfolds!

The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Thanks guys! I'll be taking my BigJim 56" Thunderchild 51# @ 28" and packing XX75 Legacy 2018's cut to 29.75". Leading the charge will be a two blade single bevel 200 gr. Abowyer broadhead. Total weight around 620gr, that's a tad over 12 GPP

Best of luck to you. I will definitely like to hear feedback on the Alberta moose.
Never measure the mountain until you have reached the top, then you will see how low it is.

Hope you have a great time! Be sure to take good notes so you can tell us every detail of your hunt.

It takes some work to write a good story, but some of us will never make that trip, so please take us along the journey when you get back.

Looking forward to it!

Just got back Sunday night after a long day of travel. I apologize for not posting the events of my hunt here since I've had lots of trouble posting pics. Gosh dang, I wish it were easier to post here for tech challenged guys like me! Story and pics are recorded on the other site which I find easier to use but still not w/o issues like sideways pics.

Story with pics on the other site. I wish it were easier to do that here, especially for a tech challenged guy like me.
