Saw a cow and a calf, they bedded down about 100 yards away. It was kind of tricky getting around them after sundown.

Day 3 of hunting.
Two days ago, Saturday  a friend came with. We heard some bugling but saw nothing.

SUNDAY night:
Saw the cow and calf again and from nowhere, in came a 6X6. Great fun watching him but no chance at the cow.

Monday afternoon:
I have been going to a different set up every day. I am now in the middle of a deep woods, sitting downwind of a trail the elk seem to like.

Actually there are about three trails crossing the main trail. Hoping I picked the right one.  I have bull bugling every so often.
Well, I hope it is a bull!! Seems to be coming from different directions.

On the last day out I tried a little calling, very little. Pretty convinced one came in downwind of me.  I heard some branches breaking and that was it. I didn't see anything.

But it was exciting to hear the bulging around me.

Sitting at McDonald's drinking an orange juice waiting for my vehicle to be repaired. Not sure if I will make out today or not.
