It's been a long process...my cochlear implant was turned on yesterday.  It will take about 2 months to completely program it...but I can hear again!  I thought I was going to have to give up my hunting lease in Georgia as I couldn't hear the hogs in the palmettos but I'm good to go even with the initial program.  I'm supposed to increase the sound level every two days from the initial program.  I can hear things that I haven't heard in 20-30 years

That's fabulous Jeff.  You've been on my mind of late - wondering how/if you were hearing yet.  Great news.

Really great news Jeff.  I know a lot of prayers went your way.

Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Awesome!

I have been hearing impaired since age 11.  My eyes are my ears.  I can't imagine what it is like to hear game approaching.  That doesn't keep me from the game tho....

Good to hear... pun intended.

My brother has an implant.  But unfortunately due to his mental abilities,  his brain is unable to process the sounds he hears into words.

Wonderful!  Our adopted daughter was born deaf.  She was shuttled around in foster care for a few years after issues at home I won't go into.  She managed to graduate from college and earn a master's degree AFTER which she finally got the cochlear implants and was able to hear things she had never ever heard before--including her little daughter playing. What a blessing those devices are.

So happy for you.    :clapper:

Very happy for you Jeff I have someone in our family with an implant also. It is a blessing for him.

That is really good news. As I see it, there is only one down side to improved hearing, and it has to do with honey do lists. Congratulations on your great success!
