Ive seen several of big jims buffalo 2 piece take downs but only 1 pic of a 3 piece take down. For anybody who has expirience with both versions which do you prefer and why? I like the clean look of the 2 piece but the 3 piece looks like it would have more mass to the riser therefore being a bit more stable. Is there any difference between the 2 as far as smoothness, speed or quietness?

My vote is for 2 pc, especially since he can use G10 and heavy woods now to add mass and even cut the risers past center now.  The 3pc riser is not a radical amount larger so to me any potential added weight is not enough to justify need for tools with the upgrades to a 2pc I mentioned.  Only justification to me at this point would be if you want more than 1 set of limbs, have concerns about abusing the bow and building more limbs down the line, or like the looks of a 3pc.

I've owened a few of his Buffalo bows and all great shooters. The 3 pc i feel gives him a little broader platform to really sculpt a nice custom grip. It does have more mass which i like" the 2 pc take down system is probably the best out there, ala" Black Widow, Caribow, and maybe a couple others using it. As far as speed and noise i notice no difference in the three models available.

One of the things on the 3 piece that really catches my eye is that fact that i can multiple sets of limbs. Do the 3 piece use a single or double pin setup to locate the limbs
