Thanks for your service! I was selected for promotion to E-6 last week actually. I can't imagine doing anything else.

Congrats! E6 was called Technical Sergeant back in the day, but the rank structure has changed since then. The chevrons are different now. I was part of the Senior Airman time period. I think that is now gone. Maybe?

No sir, Tech Sergeant is still my next rank. AB, A1C, Sra, SSgt, TSgt, MSgt, SMSgt, CMSgt. Buck Sergeant is the only change I believe from the rank structure for quite some time.

AB, Airman, A1C, SrA, Sgt, SSgt, TSgt, MSgt, SMSgt, CMSgt, CMSgt of AF.

So Buck Sgt is gone. We had some E4BS that never could get past the test.

My E1 pay was $573 a month. That was tough!
