So, this is my first year or trad archery hunting. I came into possession of an anneewakee addiction R/D @ 43# and can't wait to get going with it. I am planning to shoot with a 3 finger tab, so I'm learning more about that now.

My questions for the fine folks here, what arrow and broadhead weight should I go after? From the research I've done so far, it seems like something in realm of GoldTip Traditionals @ 500 spine with a cut on contact 125 grain broadhead is adequate.

I think I'd like to shoot wood arrows, just to go fully traditional, but I'm not hung up on that. Given the specs on this bow, what would you guys rig it out with if it were your own?

3D - Anneewakee Addiction R/D Longbow 43# @ 58"
Rifle - Elite Answer 70# @ 33 1/2"

Need to know your draw length and the cut to center dimension on your bow but you are definitely on the right track. You might need to check 600 spine shafts again depending on your draw length and center dim.

Like Kenneth said above, we'll need to know your draw length, and ideally the center cut of your bow, to get you to the right spine. It'll be very easy to figure out the wood shafts when we get those specs, but for starters I'm pretty sure you'll be fine with either 45/50's or 50/55's, if your draw is near 28". Glad to be more specific when we hear more.

Those .500 carbons with a 125 grn point will be way too stiff; again as Kenneth says, you'll neeed a .600 for carbons, but it gets more complicated as far as length, point weight, total arrow weight, etc.
(Which is largely why I went back to just shooting wood after a season trying carbons).

My son shoots a 45@28 recurve. And a Gold Tip 15/35 cut to 29.5 and a .125 tip was a thing of beauty to see shoot. Perfect arrow for him.   rat'
