Buy from any TG sponsor (Surewood is my choice for my arrows), and build your own.  The feeling is so much more rewarding when you do something for yourself.

A few good vendors....as always use a TG sponsor if possible and they have what you want or need.

I have bought good woodies from Alleghany Mtn Arrow Woods in the past....also Twig Archery as well.

Lately I have been buying all of my Douglas Fir shafts from Surewood Shafts.  Great quality, timely shipping, and reassuring customer service and communication during purchases.

I would have to recommend Surewood Shafts....if unsure then give them a call.

As for wood types...as mentioned I have settled on Douglas Fir for the past decade or more....but have really liked Chundoo (lodgepole pine) and Sitka Spruce.   All three I felt gave me a good mix of weight, durability, straightness, etc....

If going Douglas Fir I would say Surewoosd Shafts....if going Chundoo I would say Twig Archery.

I have heard good things about Poplar as well but never tried it.  I have used hickory, maple, ash.....durable, very heavy but harder to keep straight for me.

Good luck.
Keep em sharp,

Surewood has links to places to get finished shafts on their web site
Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

Sounds to me like NHBuck is looking for fully built arrows; he's new to 'em, so makes sense to me to buy sets made from one of the fine fletchers to get started.
Elite Arrows has an excellent following, as has been noted. Bow man's post offered two more.

Kyle: just make sure the fletcher knows the necessary specs, and you'll get a set of faultless arrows.
