So, I have this large set of antlers on the St Jude auction, I am going to have to ship them.

They will fit in a large box but I was wondering if any of you guys have shipped the same wrapped up in bubble wrap or any other way besides a box.

I have never shipped any antlers but know from experience that the skull plate usually breaks before the antlers do. I would either use a foam block or a board notched on both ends and gently wedge between the antlers to keep them from being smashed together. Then wrap in bubble wrap.

I would also put pieces of rubber hose on the antler tips to protect them and help prevent them from puncturing your box if it is made of cardboard.

Best to put them in a box that fits the antlers. Fill it up with news paper nice and tight and you should be good to go, You could wrap the horn tips to help  not pucturing the box. The UPS store has a good assortment of sizes.

I was in the corrugated box manufacturing business for 41 years, corrugated is very strong when sized right and the correct strength is used.

I still have access to a packaging engineer to make my St Judes shippers if I need something special, but most can be found at the UPS store or the post office along with some good interior packing to be sure the package is tight. .
