I saw a year or two back someone making arm gaurd with a knife built in. Anybody still do this ?

One thing I would like to add is ask about the quality of the knife anyone is offering. Most have a couple different qualities and there's a reason why some are more expensive than others as lQQks isn't always everything.

I could build you a guard to your liking like that or a knife for such a project or both. Personally I'm not interested in that application for a guard/sheath. I like my guards to be thin and tight reducing bulk as much as possible and I like my knives to be able to go with me all over everywhere so I prefer a separate guard and sheath.

I thought the guard/sheath was a cool idea until  I put one on.  It's heavy, bulky and out of balance IMHO.  Stopped wanting one.

I've always wondered about those knives on the armguard - I think they look absolutely great.

It seems a lot of guys like to carry knives that way, but I've been carrying knives on my belt and in my pack all my life and I guess I'm too old to change... of course a more valid reason might be that I shoot left handed while I'm right handed, so I would have to switch the knife from one hand to the other every time I wanted to use it, LOL!

I have a couple of braces with the knives and I like them.  I am surprised how often I use them.  I quit carrying a neck knife when I went this route.

If you do have the string hit the guard doesn't it make it worse with the knife?

I think handle should be on wrist end to keep string from getting caught behind knife handle!

I have an inexpensive one, I'm going to try it out and I'll get back to you guys. I always thought it was a great sounding idea. Not so sure after actually putting my hands on one

I've used one for years I got off St Uses auction. Its awesome and the knife has gutted a whole bunch of critters from bunnies to elk.

I have a couple of them.  You have to position them just right and they are fine.

Here is one I just finished for myself.  A nice little "STIC" knife to compliment the armguard.

BTW...I made the guard wider to accommodate the knife and give plenty of clearance so the string won't interfere with the knife.  The knife actually sits on top of the forearm.
