Why dream? Tomorrow's legends are here now. Get out there and hunt with as many as you can. I have hunted with at least 50 members of TG and will add a couple more to the list tomorrow morning at a southern Iowa rabbit hunt. Who's to say whether the next "I knew him when..." is not Mr Vic, Littlefeather, Wingnut, Charlie Lamb or the yet to register TG member nuber 12,000?

mike g

Howard Hill....
Littlefeather....
And anyother Trad Ganger....

To name three for me would be impossible. There are so many that come to mind. My Dad and my hunting buddy since birth steve are the two I would say If I had to but after that it is very tough. Fred Bear, Paul Schafer, Wensels, Steve H,Charlie Lamb, Guru, Terry Green,8th Dwarf.......I guess since I dont have enough room to type everyone on tradgangs name ill just use those dots to replace all the names I havent mentioned yet,and many more that I can think of. I also agree with Nakohe Ted Nugent might make for a fun hunt.

If it were family it would be my grandfather who passed away several years ago, my father and my two sons.

If it were TG members well thats a tough one but three just off the top of my head would be:

MikeG, Littlefeather (CK) and Guru, just because I really like what these guys are made of. You can see it in the things they write and the way they speak of others. Especially when the topic turns to family. What they write in these forums is who they are.

But by no means is that the only 3, there are many here that I would love to spend time with around a campfire   :campfire:  or at a table so that I could walk away and call them my friend.

My son (age 4), my daughter (age 2), my wife(not allowed to ask/say). All are well on their way to being deadly with their trad bows. My dreams will be a reality someday soon!

**DONOTDELETE**

This is really hard... but I would have to say

1) Curtis Kellar (when I move back down to Texas this Year), Terry Green, Charlie Lamb
2) Fred Bear, Saxon Pope, Ishi
3) Ted Nugent, Barry/Gene Wensel, Fred Elchler

I know you asked for just 3 ppl, but like I said that's hard. PLus there is so many Members on here I would like to hunt/camp with too...Hell just pick anyone from the board I'll be happy to hunt with them..

NDTerminator

Of living bowhunters, I would like to hunt with Barry Wensel, Chuck Adams, and Uncle Ted.

From reading Barry's posts here, articles over the years, and seeing him in videos it's clear to me he would be a plain hoot to share a campfire with. I could learn a ton from him at the same time.

It's a fair assessment that few people know more about bowhunting & archery than Chuck Adams.  Again, a guy could learn a ton from him.

I was ND State Director for Ted Nugent United Sportsmen Of America for 10 years.  In that time, I got to know The Nuge fairly well, but we never got around to hunting together.  Controversial? Yep.  Shoots from the lip? No question.  But also dedicated to the sport, passionate, knowledgeable, and fun to hang with?  Take it from me, you'll be hard pressed to find another like him.

In regard to those who have passed, I have to include some that weren't primarily or only bowhunters.  The list would be Teddy Roosevelt, Peter Capstick, Davey Crockett, and Paul Schaefer...

Hard to pick only three but I'll have to say
Paul Schafer
Paul Brunner (I hear he's quite the cook!)
Don Thomas, deffinetly one of my favourite writers

Of course it would also be nice to share company with the likes of the Wensel Brothers, Monty Browning, Howard Hill, Fred Bear, Earl Hoyt, Pope and Young, Aldo Leopold, Glen St. Charles, Dennis Kamstra, and many many others
But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourself - James 1:22

Too many to choose from.  Of course I would go with my current buddies, but I am going with them anyway and I thank the Gods for such friends.

I would, in this life time, also like to meet and hunt with many others of like mind, and mostly that means TradGangers.

Some of you have more credentials, face it...everybody knows the Wensels, and Too short, and Biggie and Curtiss...and... and... Of course it would be neat to get to know them all better.  I envy those that actually get this opportunity.

But for every one of them, there are a hundred just like me, who, like me, are known by only a handful of people. I think there would be a ton of knowledge and comaraderie passed if more campfires were shared.  This appears to be happening more and more lately, spontaneous hunts springing up.  I think this is a good thing.

VERY hard to choose only 3 but here goes:

Vernon McClanahan. He kept me in the woods or on the water thru all my teen years. He's been gone for 26 years now but I still think of him often and all the times we had. I owe him lot's.

My son who's a senior in HS now and has everything else on his mind but, I'm sure he'll get back to huntin' with dad someday.

My cousin Jay aka 'jdc'. We live in different states but hunt together as often as possible.

Van/TX

My Son - passed 15 years ago (he was 22)
My Dad - passed 11 years ago (he was 71)
Some of those guys in Tom Mussattos squirrel hunting videos I bet would be a hoot.  Maybe even Tom hisself

My father in law who died in august, Howard Hill and any and all other trad gangers. On a driven Pheasant hunt out west were there are birds. That would be a blast.

This is an easy question for me to answer. Fred Bear on the Valiant Maid with Ed Bilderback and Glen St. Charles hunting for bear. What more could a guy ask for?

My 2 Sons (which I do hunt with)

My Wife if she would start hunting again like she used to.

As many Tradganger's as possible.

To me, everyone out there has something special to offer if we just take the time to watch or listen. Whats in a name is not so important as what is inside of them.
