It's easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled. Mark Twain

If you're afraid to offend, you can't be honest.

I don't post any personal hunting pictures on social media. That type of media plays judge, jury and executioner in this area. Would rather post on Tragang or Bowsite where these pictures and stories are appreciated.

I have a better approach....I don't go on "social media" at all (which at times can be very unsocial I am told). That picture is funny.

Facebook is hastening the downfall of America. Ill let my daughter get a face tattoo before she has a facebook page.

I read that 20th Century Fox created hundreds of fake news outlets that commonly spread fake news or hyped news on Facebook.  The creep that owns Facebook calls his Facebook users fowl names for being stupid enough to divulge personal information that he can profit on. Some get so involved with Facebook that becomes an obsessed religion.  They get a totally warped idea of how the world really works.

The only social media that I use is TradGang and one other hunting forum. I don't need to deal with all the people on Facebook, much less all the hunter haters. I get enough of that without being online.

So you don't feel compelled to show all your friends pictures of your lunch every day like I see folks doing regularly?  Saw a young lady at the mall the other day taking a pic of her cup of coffee to post. Of course, it was Starbucks coffee.   :saywhat:

I wasn't raised around this sort of social media ( as most of TGers were not) and it is a bit overwhelming.  I did serve quite a long term as a regulator for a federal agency and the training I got always told me to NOT put all that information out there for everybody to see and possibly use against you.  It is amazing what you can learn from just reading what folks do, where they live, when they are going on vacation, how many kids they have and where they go to school etc etc.

And then, there is the ( what I call theatrics).  The trophy shots from whatever your endeavors of the day are.  In this day and age, someone, somewhere will almost always take offense at whatever you do and make comments or become irate at the audacity that you like to do what they hate for you to do.

I am also amazed at the content of info many of the younger folk are posting.  I can't imagine a reputable employer wanting some of them on their team.  And if you think nobody else can ever see it.... wow.

There is an answer.  Don't show it. Don't share it with the world.
