Any success with Cutthroats?

I have committed to using Cutthroats this year and I am curious if any of you have taken game with them this year.  They look plenty tough and I can get extremely sharp.  I don't anticipate any issues with them, but I am giving them a go on whitetails this year before I carry them elk hunting next fall.

Dave, I have used them the last couple years. Had  success on several whitetails. Used them elk hunting this year but the wind cost me an opportunity to test on elk!

I have shot single bevel forever it seems and after using the cutthroat last year plan on continuing for many years to come.

Dave, I switched over to the Cutthroats midyear. No big animals, but I was able to harvest some public land goats. Here are some of the images.

One of the blood trails.

Here's the most damage sustained so far. A complete pass through on a billy, then the broadhead hit the lava rock the was just on the other side of him.

Given the positive results, I recently ordered another dozen from RMS Gear.

That's what I will be using this year for the first time. Sure hope I get a shot.

I'm pretty sure if I do I will get a pass through and my wirehaired dachshund will not get much of a workout. That's ok. He enjoys just finding the deer. Twenty-foot trail won't really put him off   :)

Dave--I just finished sharpening 6 up, and hopefully I'll be bloodying (is that a word?) one up tomorrow. I bought the 250 left bevels and my KME knife sharpener really finished them off.  Good Luck

Thanks for the responses.  I expect them to do their job well if I do mine, but I like to see the successes.  I can't get out until Friday afternoon.

There is an elk shoulder bone with a big hole in it on the counter in RMSG and it was the off side shoulder! I didn't bag anything with one this year but they performed well on the doe I shot last year. My wife did inflict a pretty horrible wound channel on an aspen tree shooting at the biggest bull I've ever called in, you could clearly see some serious torquing action on the bark!

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I'll be using them this year also. I hope to have actual experience to share sometime soon.

Any more?  No shooting for me on our opening weekend here in Michigan.

I am using them also this year. I will be out in the morning for the first time this year.

I am loaded up with them.  I fired a warning shot at a turkey a few days ago.  Not really the way I planned it, but it is hard to draw with a dozen of those things within 20 yards of you in a treestand.  LOL

Lethalflight57 sent me a photo of a bear he shot this fall.  I know he was using Cutthroats earlier this year for our bear hunt this spring. So, I am guessing that is what he used for the fall bear.

I am thinking hard about ordering some to try, but Stos have been good to me.

dhaverstick has a thread (Birthday bull moose) below that he used a Cutthroat on.

I was at the RMSGear shop yesterday playing around and I saw the off shoulder blade of Paul's bull and it has a still sharp broadhead stuck in it. Was plenty good for me. Here is the story.

Up for the afternoon, hoping to hear of some successful kills with the Cutthroats.

I'm hunting with my recurve the rest of the year and it's shooting those heads well. I'm going to touch them all up this week, 2 weeks until I can bow hunt again.

I have shot 2 deer with them. Recovered one and didn't the other. Both were good placed shots. I don't like them and switched broadheads mid season this season. The entry and exits are small. Hardly any blood was found.  I've shot 2 deer with the broadheads I have switched too and I really like them.

I've shot at least 4 with them, they are pretty spendy but work as well as any if I do my part.
