This is a couple of straight limbed bows with one inch backset I just finished.
It is a mixture of Bubinga, European Walnut, Elm, Maple, Plum, Linen Micarta, Glass.
Would you take a look at the braced and drawn profiles. I used full lenght parallel maple laminations and 0.o15 tapers. Perhaps I should have used 0.002 tapers to get a little more bend in the outer parts of the limbs, what do you think? Sitting on the tiller tree the bow is not drawn exactly from the same point of the string as if finger shot, so the tiller might be sligtly off.  Thank you.  Bue--.

Great Job on those bows. They look awesome!

I like the tiller as is, more taper would give a more whip tillered look. How do they shoot?

Very nice detail and finish work. Love the look of the plum riser and there is something about the look of the handle on that one that looks more comfortable to me... a higher hand location and the curve of the shelf looks like it peaks right above the pressure point of the grip.

Is that plum from wild stock or orchard lumber? I have been thinking of trying some wild plum that grows here in Iowa.

Thanks for sharing Beu. Great work!

I really like how you did the tips. Very nice all around.

Thank you. Shaun, the overlays on the back are Plum wood from an orchard. The bows shoot nice with very little handshock, anyway with the bows that I make a fast flight string gives the bows a much more "dead" feel and much less vibration than if using Dacron.I also think that proper brace height is very important to these straight limbed bows. It is snowing today, not much fun to be out shooting. Do you know of any vacant places in, lets say Hawaii?  Bue--.

Great job Buemaker. Have you tried making a bamboo backed bow yet?

I have not made a Bamboo backed bow yet, but have a few strips that have been sitting on a shelf staring at me for a few years now.

Bue-tiful!
I love the wood combinations and the simple clean lines.
I don't do fiberglass so I'm a little conffused by those numbers.
I thought 0.002 is less taper than 0.015... is it not? If so why would less taper give you more bend at the tips? Or are you using reverse taper?
If you ever do make some with the same unstrung shape but more whip tiller I'd love to hear how they compare. (now you've got homework.   :D )

Great job Bue...  I like the looks of those guys.

Hope your weather was better than much of northern Europe last week.  I am in Slovenia for the next couple days, then elsewhere and I am a bit concerned over my travel itinerary because of possible damage.
