I have a Horne Mountain T/D recurve coming in very soon. The string is a 16 strand FF.

Are you Horne owners using the FF string or something else?

Here's a pic of what's coming to me........I'm just a bit excited.   :D

Joe, you should be excited, that is a beautiful looking bow. I really like the wood combo. How many finger nails do you have left? The wait is always the worst thing. I hope it is a good shooter for you.      :biglaugh:

joe,
You could easily shoot 10 or 12 strands of D97 out of that horne and pick up several fps. 1 strand of D97 has a tensile strength of 125lbs.

Joe very nice ask the bowyer for the dropoff of wood for the riser and make a Helle knife to match. That is what I am doing now I also made a tee-handle allen wrench just a thought.Kip

Mark made me a combo hunter with longbow limbs.  I use 16 strand FF and 16 Dacon strings.  Both shoot great from this bow with a 7" brace height.

hey JOE another MARK and SANDY work of art what a beautiful bow!!!!Good luck with it and many years of success. I recently receives one of their Brushbows bocote riser and cocoabola palm swell bocote veneers. Anyway as soon as I got it I went in the back yard to shoot a few with the fast flight string and without any silencers it was unbelevably quiet and really spit out an arrow. But I noticed my nocks on the arrow were real loose . So I switched over to a B-50 put on catwhiskers and couldn't beleive it got even quieter. I was never a F>F> guy always switched over to good old B-50 The couple of FPS never really impressed me.I even spoke to SANDY yesterday I'll be ordering another one soon and she said just let her know and they will put B-50 on instead.I think F>F> puts a lot more stress and wear and tear on your limbs. Hope I helped you out.Good luck with the bow.

I bought this bow used and sent it to Mark for a little weight reduction. Mark said it should be done this week. I was hoping for 48#'s but it appears she'll be 50# @28".

Thanks for your recommendations on a string.

Sweet looking bow, Joe! How many more weeks till you bring it to "the barn", I might have to make it up there.
