Not the worlds greatest invention, but it works nicely. When putting finish on longbows I use a dipping tank made from a plastic pipe and fitted with a piece of a large soda bottle. I dip half the bow at a time and hang it up in a T shaped "dipping tree" Once you get your finish thinned to the right solution it gives a very nice result, It can of course be used for arrow shafts also. Yes they are glass backed bows. I use an Polyurethane/Alkyde finish that is designed for heavy duty wood floors. It dries to a hard film but is still flexible enough for bow limbs. I thin it 25% with White Spirit, That gives the correct flow to it.   Bue--.
