Picked up a new bow at Denton Hill this weekend!  I held and shot alot of bows but this was the one I just fell in love with.  And with my hurt shoulder some bows just hurt to shoot w/ the twange I get but this bow shot like dream for me...feeling wise still can't hit the broadside of a barn  :p

The bow is 60" 45# @ 28.  I'm glad I picked it up!

I was also curious as to a rough guide in setting this bow up.  My old bear tigercat was setup w/ the help of a buddy of mine but I'd like to be able to tinker a bit more on my own so I dont need to bother him so much b/c of our scheduals.  I will order a few tools in order for me to play around b/c I have none but was curious what I should start out with w/ brace height nok point etc etc?  Any helpfull info would be great I'm still new to this stuff!

Pretty bow!

... but please tell me you aren't using it as a stake for that tomato plant.    :smileystooges:

I have a 58" Ancient Spirits Sequoia that is 49"@28" and it likes 7 1/4" brace height and a nock point around 5/8".  That is a great looking bow, congrats!  I don't think you will be disappointed with it.

Nice Bow.

Thats a looker for sure.  If it shoots half as good as it looks you'll be killing barns in no time....

I have a Thunderhawk, I can shoot as low as 6.25-7.25 on the brace height, and a 5/8" nock works just fine for me.

Thanks for all the comments everyone!

A few questions...

The bow currently has FF for the string and since I have a string on order I was going to order one for this bow.  I was curious if what ya'll would put on this bow?  Should I just stick w/ the FF?

And arrows?  A buddy gave me some 1916's and 2016's and I plan on bare shafting them but if I wanted to go to carbons what range should i work in?

I have been reading that new strings sometimes change the specs of the bow and w/ FF you need to shoot a stiffer arrow.  It seems like I should wait to put a new string on this bow and set it up before I go buying arrows b/c they may not spine properly w/ a new string.  What do ya'll think?

My apologies for these questions but its going tobe a long learning process for me!

I have a 14 strand DF97 on mine that "Golden Hawk" made for me, shoots quiet as a mouse with only a set of cat whiskers on it. I'm shooting A.D. Tradlites with 200 grains up front.

BTW, congrats on the new bow, it's a looker !!!

Ancient Spirits bows are soooo nice. One of the owners lives not far from me. I forget his name but have talked with him a few times and met him at cloverdale. Great guy. Tradgang member too.

I shot one of their bows that was total awesome. I forget the model. To pretty for me to be handling much less shooting. I couldn't imagine taking it to the woods. I had my selfbow and felt like I had just picked up an old stick in comparison to how pretty that bow was.

Yea for a clumsy fool like me every time I pick the bow up I start to panic and prey not to beat it up to bad!  I had it sitting next to my old bear tigercat and man what a difference in 50 years LOL.  This bow makes that bear look like a walking stick!
