Well as everyone knows, I am going on a cribou hunt the end of August. I got home from work on Tuesday after working 14 days and sat down with my wife to inform her of my good fortune. Conversation as follows.
Me--Hi honey quess what?

Her-- Ok what?

Me-- I lucked into a caribou hunt with some of the guys on Trad Gang real cheap.

Her--Uh how cheap?

Me-- Don't worry I have the money and I will never have a chance like this again. Only $2600.00 and I get to hunt a week. Isn't that great.

I swear I could see dollar signs coming from her eyes. She just smiled sweetly and said.

Her-- Baby you know I do not mind your little hunting jaunts, but this is really going to cost you.

Me-- EERR how is that? Gulp!!

Her-- You remember that 2 carrat diamond ring I have been wanting--------

Boy is this going to be an expensive hunt, but worth every dime.

Donald, Just get that little lady a 2 carrat diamond and tell her how much you appreciate her and thank God for a good woman. Then take her to dinner and ask her for her credit card to pay for the meal.  JUST KIDDIN!!!!

Yup, I have one of the best wives in the world. She never complains about my hunting or bow buying and trading, just shakes her head and laughs at me cause she knows I can never say anything about what she buys. LOL I love her to death and thank God for her daily.

I find if I buy something expensive like a bow or a gun and I hand her an envelope of cash she walks the other way and doesn't say a word.

I'm eternally grateful that Cher loves to hunt as much as I do. I'm more likely to hear, "but, you know those new arrows I want. They better be here - and all finished up - before you leave!" Far more useful than diamonds ... and cheaper too! But, alas, she has been nagging me to buy and wear 'more presentable' clothes for myself ... for when we go places together. Can't have everything, I guess!    :rolleyes:

My answer whether accurate or not; No worries, it is in the budget.  I've been saving months for this.

My old hunting partner had a deal with his wife. She didn't complain about his incessant purchases of new firearms, as long as, for each rifle he bought, she recieved a jewelry piece of the same value, before he got any more "toys."
He has an EXTENSIVE collection of firearms, she has a HUGE jewelry box set!     :rolleyes:
Works for them, anyhow!
