Nevada mule deer season opens August 1st. I can't believe it! I'll be hunting my uncle's farm again.

I'm shooting my Pronghorn, cedar arrows, and Magnus two-blade vented broadheads. Roadkill and I fixed up some blinds on the corner of an alfalfa field. Let's hope the deer follow similar patterns as last year.   :D
Directions: Hike, camp, hunt, fish, wash, rinse, repeat.

Good luck out there.. I still have a little over 50 days (sept 15)..

It has to be CRAZY hot in Nevada in August.. LOL

I've never tried to hunt in 100 degree+ weather.

"instinctive archery" is more like playing the violin. Without practice you may remember the mechanics, but you will not be a virtuoso.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to rub it in. Just getting excited.  :D

Yeah, that is the odd part. Deer hunting in the hottest part of the year. I'm told that if I actually get one, there will be no need to hang and age it, because by the time I find and dress the deer, the process will have already gone on long enough.
Directions: Hike, camp, hunt, fish, wash, rinse, repeat.

Good luck Tamure. I bet I know the Pronghorn and there is some good moejoe in that bow.

good luck to you! when you get one, post some pics

Season ends Sept. 5th. I wish I had more vacation time...

CJ: Yep, the Pronghorn is Old Claude. We get along well.  :)
Directions: Hike, camp, hunt, fish, wash, rinse, repeat.

Roadkill

As of today, the fires that are currently still burning and not under control is 900,000 acres! We'll be further south, but he temps will be in the high 90 lower 100's.
Tamure has a couple of primo spots tied up and I think she'll score early.
I'll be furhter north on the ranch and hope to do some spot and stalk/stand hunt.

Hunting red meat in the heat is rough going I'll bet.

Wish you all luck and a safe hunt.

We're just jelous we can't get out earlier than our own seasons. At leat thats my excuse. LOL I've been ready to get in the woods since the last day of last season. I remeber watching the sun set that day (I couldn't hunt) What a perfect day. I've been in the woods plenty since but there is just something about knowing any moment could be the time for a memory to be made that may last forever.

Funny how you can replay hunts in your head. Glad I can otherwise I probably couldn't last until season.

Good luck and be safe. Bring us some pics and a story back.

Sure rub it in why don't you....     :knothead:
Not only do I have to wait until Sept 15, but the upper limb of my bow blew up yesterday and now I have to get used to a heavier bow before then..

Sure go ahead make my day more miserable than it already is...     :bigsmyl:      :bigsmyl:

Good luck Tamure....
I already hunted the coast last week, and will hunt the Sierras in the middle of Aug.
And then it will be back to the coast in Oct for a Doe hunt.

Best of Luck.  Beautiful country up near Ely.  I hunted there in 1998.  Camped out below a cluster of aspens on a creek.  Great memories.  I wish you the best.
