SEMO hog hunt March 3, 2007

Back at ya with a pm. Congrats on the hogs. I have a hunt to TX to hunt piggies Memorial Day weekend. Should be hot, but not too hot. 85 during the day/75 at night. Feeders are running though so that should make it a little easier. But ... no guarentees, it ain't shopping. Pics?

you guys are welcome to come hunt with us!!!

Millers is a large lodge.....it should handle all of us...BUT if it wont there are two other lodges at the lake that will!!!!

You will just have to call millers and see!!!

Might try to make it. Nathan I think I met you at the swamp rabbit hunt last year. Do you work at sundowners marina? I think my brother Dax rented a poontoon from you guys last summer. I've been wanting to chase some hogs down there. I talked to the corp of engineers guy. He sent me a map of the lake with some spots were hog sign has been found or hogs spotted. Yes, I work at Sundowner in the summer. I was at the swamp rabbit hunt last year. I was shooting the hoyt gamemaster then.

I will talk to the corp also about where they are seeing hog sign currently. They have maps of current activity and also of what they have planted in the food plots.

The hunt is the first weekend in March.

We will be baiting this Sunday. We are meeting at Redmon creek parking lot at 7:30-8:00 for anyone interested. Looks like mobiltoy, and OzarkRambler will be here as of now. If you are going to be there let me know so we will be looking for ya!!

My buddy can't go, so it looks like I am headed down solo, unless I can find someone else to go along. But I am definately coming either way. I see the last cabin was spoken for. Anyone looking for an extra roomate? If not I think the inn has rooms also.
Citori, I sent you some cash for some corn. Didn't know how much to send. Let me know if I need to kick in some more.
Any need to bring blinds or tree stands? Or if this just a spot and stalk or what? I never hunted hogs before.

Yes, I got the check and it was great....thank you...that is plenty. I would bring the stuff for whatever style you prefer to hunt!! Stands, blinds, stalking, etc.

Mobiltoy, ozarkrambler, and I put out 5 feeders and filled up one I already had. My 2 buddies I normally hunt with put out 2-3 feeders on the other side of the lake. So we have 9 feeders out now. We have @500# of corn out as of now in feeders and scattered on the ground around the feeders.

The first place we put out a feeder and where my existing feeder was we crossed the sign of @ 6-8 hogs with tracks, beds, rooting, etc. Keep in mind this was all NEW sign. It snowed Sat night and all sigh there was just a few hours old. Then we went to where mobiltoy found sign a month or two ago and there was a LOT of sign there. Trails, wallows in a pond, mud rubs, hair on fences in crossings, tracks....the whole nine yards. This sign was new, but not since the night before. THe area has had activity for some time by the sign. We put up 3 of the feeders in that area about 250 yards apart.
