Wanted to order some Gamegetter II the other day but  seems like Easton replaced them with the new black ones.

Has anyone tried them yet?

I used to shoot 2016 and 1916 but now, they only offer 300, 340, 400, and 500...What is that new size/spine system about?    :help:

My dealer also said they use a different technique now to make them.

Cheers, Phil

I was looking into them too, they dont have a 1916 anymore! Three Rivers still has some 1916's according to thier site. Heres how the new black ones are sized.

500 (2016), 400 (2117), 340 (2315), 300 (2317).

bayoulongbowman

where is best place to purchase the new black ones???? thanks... :)

Do the new Black ones still take the Traditional Nock....

A little confusing:  The website lists several sizes including 1916, but then at the bottom it says 500, 400, 300,200.  not sure which is correct.

The sizes are the arrow's deflection, same as Axis arrows. 500 is weakest, 300 is stiffest.

I'm kind of with **oneshot** here.  Easton lists eleven sizes from 1716 to 2315, and then has 500-300 as shaft sizes.  I can understand deflection, but I really liked the old system.
For mike g, yep, the old traditional nocks.
I see these new shafts sell for about $35 a dozen, which is not free, but not bad, and I kind of like the dark solid color.  I've never been a big fan of the camo shafts.
Guess we still have to figure out the sizes yet.

Are they going to eliminate the numbers on the legacy shafts 2018, 2020, etc. and go to these new size methods of spine?

Confusing isn't it...but I have to say,I like the new look as well.
Thanks for the info Jason!

Anyone knows if the weight per inch changed too?

The limited deflections listed appear to work quite well for carbons as they seems to tune over a wider range. I wonder if limited aluminum spine ranges will tune as well?

fsdiscountarchery.com has the shafts for $35 a dozen, I would buy them if I can just found out how much each size weighs.

If you look on Easton's website, there is a $20 rebate for a dozen shafts.  That makes them almost too good not to try.
I find the older I get, the less I used to know!

buck-tamer00

how much would they cost to begin with before the rebate?

Jason Kendall got everything totally correct.  I called Easton just a few seconds ago to verify what they would be offering.  They are only doing the 4 sizes that Jason mentioned, and he got the size conversions correct, exactly as she said.  Sucks for me, as I have been shooting the 1916's, and they are perfect for my setup.  I was getting the shafts for fairly cheap, cutting off the swedge taper, installing a G Nock Uni bushing and G nock - came out perfect for me, and I really liked the setup.  You can do the same for the other sizes as well, which is probably what I'll continue doing.

Unfortunately, the $20 rebate does not apply to bare shafts - just fletched.  Here is the cut and paste from their website:

$20 mail-in rebate* when you buy one dozen EASTON XX75 Gamegetter 300, 340, 400, or 500 fletched arrows.

Oh man!  It looks as if they did the same thing to the camo hunter as well!  Only 4 sizes (500, 400, 340, 300) instead of all the sizes they used to offer.  The Realtree and Mossy Oak are still offered in the tradtional spine sizes, but none of them are what I shoot.  The SuperSlams haven't been available in my size (1916), so it looks like my spine aluminum will no longer be available.  I guess it may be time to make the switch to all carbons or go back to woodies for me.
All the best,
Glenn

Anyone shoot a 2013 here?  According to the charts, it's the closes spine (bit stiffer) to the 1916 I am shooting, but it's lighter in weight.  Would this be a better choice than going to a 2016, or do you think the walls are too thin for hunting???

The 1916s are still available in the Legacy shaft though right?

LV2HUNT

Sorry, answered my own question by checking the website. The 1916s are still available in the Legacy. Good thing as I plan to shoot it till I die       .

cajuntec

Yep.  And the Platinum target shafts.  The only thing about the Legacy's is that they are going to be the same as the Gamegetters - swedged ends with the glue on nocks.  I know a lot of people prefer that, but I like the Uni-bushing / push in nock setup better, as I can "re-adjust" with out reglueing my nocks.  I guess I'll just buy some Legacy's and see how I like them.  They should be better than my GG's, but I don't know.  My buddy thought I was nuts when I cut the swedges off of my GG's and put Uni's / G Nocks in them, but I couldn't find regular XX75's in my size when I did them.... so I just "built" some.   :)
All the best,
Glenn
