Water

I guess this is Traditional related. When you are hunting, how do you carry drinking water ?? I'm talking about on day trips. I had a "Flexiflask" but they seemed to have gone out of business.I tried a regular water bottle but that's too much sloshing and noisy. I tried squeezing the air out but when you open the top it makes noise. So..... what do you guys and gals use ???

If it's just a morning or evening hunt, I just drink plenty before hand. If I'm out all day, I'll keep a regular water bottle in the fanny pack. If it's sloshing enough to make noise, your making more noise than it is anyway.

You can squeeze the air out of a plastic water bottle and then put the cap back on and it will not slosh.

Go to a surplus store and look for a US Army issue two quart waterbottle. It's soft skinned so you can squeeze out any air and keep it from sloshing. It even comes with a carrying pouch and strap. Two quarts is a lot of water and should last for a long day afield.

I just carry an old soda water bottle in my packs side pocket. Then if I loose it or decide to cache it it costs me nothing

I've got a pocket in my day pack for a hydration bladder (I've got a 2 litre Platypus bladder) and the hose clicks right onto the shoulder strap..... best setup I've had for accessing my water and like the Boda Bag.... No slosh...... Terry

I've used bota's, but at least for me I don't find them to be very durable. Camelbaks are good. So are the soft squeezable Nalgeen bottles. Both are quiet and durable.

If I need to carry water the Camelback, or any hydration bladder with a bite tube, is by far the best. No sloshing at all, and the hose lets you take a sip whenever you need it. Don't have to take off your pack and pull out a bottle. If I had to do that I probably wouldn't drink nearly as much. Keeping well hydrated is important and this is by far the easiest way to do it.
