Ordered MulitCam T/D Recurve

I have been looking for a Bill Stewart Multicam T/D recurve for some time now, actually since I sold the 56", 53#@28" M.C. recurve I once owned. I've had zero luck until I was recently informed that Roy Coursey of Cook's Mountain Archery may be building the bows.

I sent Mr. Coursey an email and was pleasantly surprised to find that he had been taught how to build bows by Mr. Stewart and that he decided recently to start building the M.C. recurves since Mr. Stewart passed away a couple years ago and Mr. Stewart's son closed the business. I ordered a Cook's Mountain Archery M.C. T/D recurve today. It will be 60", 48#@28" (target weight +/- 2#, and will have an Indian Rosewood riser and Zebrawood limbs.

And the best news of all is I'll have it around the end of August or first of September. I will be able to get it ready for deerhunting season in IL and later in the deer season in SC when it cools down some!

I just saw a neat one on that auction site. It had a riser with a thumb hole in it. Made in the early 70s. He was an avant guarde bowyer, that's for sure.

I saw the bow on ****. It was unique, however 55#@28" is way too much for my shoulders, elbows and string fingers to handle.

Frank, Yep, but I'm selling/trading just about as fast as I'm buying!

Well, at least I'm trying to sell the Robertson and trade a longbow I've got.

I retired my original Stewart Multi Cam bow after taking an Antelop back in '91. Mine is 60# at 27", Maple Riser which I had a fried dye dark brown and Yew limbs under clear glass. Still has the plastic pockets. Great bow, 56", Smooth and fast. Here's a pic....

Yes, that is a nice one that Joe has. If it was 45#@27" I'd try to swap him out of it!

Thanks! I'm looking forward to receiving it. Mr. Coursey is offering more options for limbs and risers than Mr. Stewart did. I hope it perform as well as the 56", 53#@28" Stewart M.C. T/D recurve I had did. I'm sure it will!

He looks kinda young there, too. Err, please don't look at my picture of me holding my granddaughter! :eek: The hair that I have that hasn't turned loose has turned gray!! :confused:

That black hair is now black and gray...mostly gray.

Bill...notice the light colored maple riser...about 9 yrs ago I had a good friend stain it dark brown. It really compliments those pretty Yew Limbs. By the way, I shot that "goat" at 25 yds using Cedar arrows and single blade Zwickey Eskimos from a homemade windmill stand.

The arrow was through the animal before he even left the watering hole. I put a T1 FF string on the Stewart and talk about quiet! I plan on taking it with me on any bowhunts for a backup bow. Good luck with your new bow....

Yes, a TS-1+ string will be going on mine. I've found it to be much quieter than any other string material and it as good as most in the speed department. I'll take the feel and the silent release over a bit extra speed, period!

Actually, I'm trying to cut back. But, there's a couple of bows I let get away from me that I want to get another of back in the fold. That's why I'm back to wheeling and dealing, again!

And now you're tempting me with the multi-cam...

You know what would be really cool is a multi-cam r/d flatbow limb.
