thoughts and comments? are they all tapered? was thinking about the alaskans, just not sure.

yep, tapered all the way. point is the larger end.

dont get the sitkas, ive got them and there not as tough as i would have liked.....

good arrows, my opinion, just not worth $200 for a dozen arrows.....

Sitkas break on rocks, Alaskans break rocks. At least that's what happened for me today.

I managed to shoot 3 holes in my steel fence around the pool with my Alaskans last week with the same arrow (don't ask how

). I am still shooting the arrow

Brady, what weights do the Alaskans come to? With what point/insert weight and what weight bows are you shooting them from? I am shooting the Sitkas with my ACS for 3D and would want more mass for hunting. Good luck in Namibia and hope you guys get some great action and video, wish I was able to go again this year.

The one problem that I have with them is that the components sure do not fit very tightly. Not sure I'd buy them again.

My Alaskans come to 650 grains. I am shooting them from my 58# recurve. I also have some 810 grain Safaris for my 70# longbow. Just 10 days to go!!!!!

Saw 16 patients the first 3 hours of clinic today. It's gonna be a long 10 days.....

Will be shooting a 55# @ 64" silvertip recurve, same as I had before except it was a 60#.

I wish they had some test kits for them, the arrows I mean.

Test kits would be a good idea. I will see if I can talk Ed into it.
I think you will do fine with the Alaskans if you are shooting between 28-30". If you are at the longer end of that, go with the aluminum adapters, otherwise go with the brass inserts.

I will be shooting 28.5 least that is what I usually am at. I will start long @ 29.5" and cut them down but through the years with different arrows 28.5 seems consistent.

Never tried brass inserts for weight but only shoot 125 grain heads so I imagine I will need the boost. Gonna try to shoot heavier this year for the first time.

Doctor Brady is right. I too have a new batch and it seems they are getting the tolerances much closer now. Today, I was able to get mine shooting perfectly. 55lb. Dakota recurve, 29 inch alaskan with the brass inserts plus a 125 grain eclipse head with an aluminum adapter. They weigh around 630 and are hitting like a train.
