CE Heritage 150/250/350? UPDATED

I'm wanting to try the carbon express heritage but not for sure which size to get. I'm shooting a Viper Deluxe 57# @ my draw 28" FF string 150gr to 200gr tip wanting arrow around 29"-30" I'm guess the 250's well be right with the amount of weight up front. But I mite be wrong. The 250"s are 10gpi and with a 150gr tip and all the other things on the arrow my weight well be about 475gr I guess I would need to put weight tubes in them to get them up to 570-650gr which is where I want my finished arrow weight, or should I load the ip like some guys with 250gr-300gr up front w/head and 100gr insert? I like high FOC but I thank that loading the front with 30%+ is to much but I mite be wrong because I see alot of guys doing it. So any help would be nice,m I'm going to hit the search and see what I can come up with too, but there isn't alot about this bow and heavy arrows.

If you want to shoot the 250s(11 gpi. by the way)out of that bow cut to 30"s ya still would need 300 grains up front at least, they would never fly with 150 grain point weight. Ya could shoot the Heritage 150s(10gpi.) and put 250 up front but they would weigh around 550 all done up. I shoot the 150s out os a 54# high performance recurve that is cut well past center. I cut them to 29.5"s and need 175 up front for perfect fligh.

250's might work with a bunch of weight up front at 29-30". I would'nt be surprised if a 150 did'nt fly at that length. Pretty sure you can forget the 350's.

I just tryed so Beman classic ICS 340@30" with the 150gr but with my old dacron string and they just a little stiff back to 30yrds still nock right but they'er hiting where I'm shooting. I ways figureing that with the FF and another 50gr they might be perfect but could be wrong on that to. My 60/75 29" CX terminators are way to stiff. Are carbons not affected by front weight as aluminums? I here alot of guys saying that 50gr does nothing to spine. I just dont want to order the 150's cut them down with 150gr tips and have them still to weak spine. I don't want to shoot under 150gr heads but will go up to 250gr w/insert. But you guys have shot more then me so you know how these carbons act better then me.

I just looked at the spine chart and see that the 250's are .374 spine I thought they were 400+ and the 150's are .487 spine. Thats why I like aluminums there is better selection of spines. I guess I need to find a 150 heritage around here gett a couple and just try them, but that is the problem ther is no place localy that sells them. I think Sportamens warehouns and gander mite but there over an hour away and they only sell 1/2doz no singles.

The 150s you will still need lots of weight up front. I am telling you a 150 cut top 30"s and 225 grains(minimum) up front will fly very well from that bow. Ya may need up to 275. shawn

not to hijack the thread but I was thinking of trying the 350s out of my longbow. Anybody know what the deflection and GPI is for them? BTW I shoot a 66" Morrison that is 83# @ 29.5". I am currently shooting 30.5" 2317s with 245gr point weight. Thanks. We now return you to your regularly schedualed thread

My experience with carbons is that they react more to shaft length than point weight. If they are stiff at a certain length it seems to take a lot of weight to change the spine noticeably.

.320 and man that is stiff. Carbons react to both, I know in some instances that a quarter inch makes a noticable difference. I usually do not notice a change in spine with a certain point weight until I cut more than a half inch. Shawn

.320 may still be a tad weak for me though. I'm shooting 2317s now and if I remember right they are .297. I need to find someplace where I can buy 1 or 2 and try them. I don't want to buy a dozen and find out they won't work.

Last season I shot the 250s at 30" with a 175 grains up front off a 57# fox breed drawn to 28" AMO. Total weight about 545 grains. They group bare shafts and fletched perfectly this year I wanted more weight so I dropped the shaft length to 28 1/2" and put 245 grains up front with the same bow for 618 grains total weight.

Shawn, I'm holding you to this about the 150's LOL. I ordered some 150's and some 100gr inserts. So with my 150gr tip/head that will make it 250gr up front. Total arrow weight should be 572gr or so. Thinking of getting some 3gpi tube to boast it up to around 660gr So I can play with lighter tip weight just incase the 150gr tips make it to weak, and still have good arrow weight. My arrow weight should be 10gpi-12gpi with a combo with these.

I shoot a 52 lb. Widow longbow....with a 150.....cut to 29.....100 gr. insert...125 Magnus Stinger.....flies great....and last month I double lunged a 160 lb. boar at 15 yards.

Works for me!

I'm shooting 150's cut 29.25 inches...50 gr insert...125 gr WW with 125gr steel adapter from both my 50# Widow and T-hawk longbows.

I was seeking the same advice as well guys hope this does not uspset huntnut and others . I was going to buy new heritage arrows as well and am looking for advice. I have a new ACS cx 66 inches 41 @ 28, however I draw 31.5 and would be ordering 32.5 or full length arrows. Would guys recommend the 150 or 250. I have some 350's I have been using for another bow that are too stiff.

I'm drawing 27 on my 50@28 longbows so I would think we would both be in the same ball park. The 150's are working for me, but I don't claim to be any kind of expert.

hey bubba, would you want to sell 1 or 2 of your too stiff 350's? I want to try them with my 83# longbow but don't want to buy a dozen until I know they work

I shoot the 250's out of my recurve @60#.

Cut to 30" and with 310 grains up front....640 gr total....they fly great!
