I put feathers on some river cane today ( my first) with duco and the came right off. Just like putting them on wax. They have been sanded. Any suggestions?

Did you put any finish on the shafts? Tru-oil works great.

Would tape work any better? I've had pretty good luck with that.

I scrape the rind off of mine and then dip them in Minwax Polycrylic and put the fletching on with either duco or fletch tape.  Haven't had any trouble with them coming off.

I scrape/sand the rind off and then seal them with Tru-Oil like Dano said, then use Duco. But a freind uses the fletch tape after sealing his with no problems.
