So Much Artistry!!      Beautiful Work Folks!!   :clapper:    One thing about woodies, you can start with Ramin Dowels from Wally World to Start out, then Graduate to the POCs or Higher Priced Wood Shafts!!
NO Aluminum or Carbon Arrow has the Feel or Flight of a HandCrafted Wood Arrow!! Of Course, thats just  MY  Opinion....   :archer2:

Some are Iowa Hawks colors, some are Chicago Blackhawk colors, and the rest are just random. I'm starting to dig the Red Mahogany stain on D.Fir shafts!!!

My first attempted 11/32 woodies are for my dad to hunt with this fall. They are not perfect but i'm proud of them. Shurwoods best spined @ 55-60. they tuned great with 125gr tips. Dad is hunting with them this fall. I'm very excited for him to shoot a deer with arrows I made for him!

I spliced the cock feathers only, slow going.

Not fancy by any sense, but made some POC "Game Getters" for deer season.

One of my most favorite threads ever.  Never get tired looking at it.  The craftsmanship is exceptional, from the simplest to the most extreme.  The members of this site never cease to amaze me with their talents and attention to detail.

WESTBROOK

Damon,

Love that camo swirl!

Whats the trick to get the paint to swirl?

"Nothing fancy" is what the guy told me when he ordered these.

Isaiah 49:2...he made me a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

WESTBROOK, there have been a couple threads about how to marble dip, but basically you float oil-based paints on water, gently swirl them together and twist the shafts down into the container to your cap depth, it's really simple and the combos are endless. Try it, it's pretty fun...for those ones I used Testor's model paints (gloss for all, green, tan and a little black)
