Need arrow help

[Taiga Recurve]

I just recently started shooting carbons and I need help setting up an arrow with the correct spine and at least 540grains of arrow weight. I currently shoot a 62 # recurve. My draw length is 27.5, so I am pulling right around 60#. I have tried 3555 and 5575 GT, I shoot both shafts uncut and 125 field point. They fly alright with fletching, however, bare shaft is down right scary. Can any one give me some ideas on which arrow I should concentrate on, what length I should cut it to, what grain point, and do I add a weight tube to achieve the correct spine and the weight I am looking for. I can't afford to keep cutting down arrows and making them un-usable.

You did not mention how long the shaft you are shooting is, but I would say a 55/75 cut to 29"s and a 100 grain brass insert and 125 grain point would be the ticket. Those 55/75 are way stiff even if full length and the 35/55s would be weak to get the weight up where ya want them unless ya went with weight tubes, which to me is not what ya want with carbons. carbons perform best with a lot of weight forward. Try what I mention and you will be amazed!  I should also say start with the shaft at 30.5"s and cut back a 1/2" at a time until ya get the flight ya want with that 225 up front. Shawn
