Bow dog

i know what ya mean, the best dog to ever walk around the local area was a Indiana, arthritis was so bad last december we had to lay him to rest neath the ol oak tree where he could catch the morning rays, and lay in the shade throughout the day....

now ive got a Miniture Rat Terrier by the name of Rebel and a Treeing Walker coonhound my the name of Rowdy, rebel spolit and Rowdy's about to be killed if he dont stay away from the flower beds and outdoor lights...

Apparently, all dogs like mud. I got this shot of Max, my Chesapeake Bay Retriever, after we caught him digging through my wife's giant flower pot. Dirt everywhere and him looking like
"What?!?"

We've got 5 dogs. All but one hang out with me when I shoot. Even have to yell at them to get away from the targets.
We have a Lhasa Apso we got from the Humane Society last year, and as soon as I go and grab my bow or arrows he heads the other way and finds a place to hide.

I don't get it. I guess 4 out of 5 ain't bad.

Great pics guys! Here is a pic of my Bird Dog, she's an English Springer Spaniel. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed as being deathly allergic to bees (been bit twice so far, next one could kill her), so her time in the outdoors is rather limited. We love her all the same though.

These are my pups- Sidney, a mystery mutt; and Pancho, a Boston Terrier. Sidney and Pancho stayed with my parents in my Dad's bow shop for a few months while I was away at some trianing- My Dad said that day after day they would sit and watch him build bows... they probably know the process better than I do now!

I looked at a chocolate lab puppy this weekend. Its been years since I had a dog. We had dogs growing up. I had two that were very special to me and when I ran around in the woods they were always right there. They are both gone now. The one died while I was away in the military. That was tough. Now I have a family and hope to bring a dog into our lives (at my wifes protest) One day....

There is never a shortage of dogs here on our farm. People continue to "bless" us with their unwanted dogs. We fix them up and find most of them homes. Those who are not adopted become ours...much to JC's dismay. :rolleyes: I can tell you this....these are usually the best dogs you could ever ask for. They appreciate every bite of food and every gentle petting. With that being said, we have some wonderful canine companions. They love when the bows are in hand and their humans are headed towards the woods. One just loves the flying arrows....so much so we really have to watch him. And to think...he had once been beaten, starved and discarded. What a good dog he is.....
Those who came to the archery shoot here a few weeks ago can tell you about these dogs. I think they went out with every group that went to shoot. They just love it and it's good for our souls as well.....

Everyone should experience that unending love and devotion you can recieve from a well loved dog.

Here is one member of my brood. This is Henry, one of my two wirehaired dachshunds. He loves to hunt, loves to snuggle, and loves every human being he meets. If there ever was a Mr. Congeniality of the weiner dog world, it's Henry...and of course, he is definately one of the top creatures in my world!

That will be tough on its own right!

This is Dolly, my 13" beagle. She's a great companion not to mention a great rabbit hunter.

I even take her with me to deer camp...she loves the attention she gets there.

this baby mutt is HB (Halle Bear), the day my girlfriend and I adopted her in Jan/06. she is 7 pounds in this photo, and they told us between 3 and 4 months. i was dead set on an adult dog, but apparently Halle "picked" us. from that day until august of 06 we were at the vet atleast once every two weeks because she was not well when we adopted her and could not get rid of the runs and vomiting, or gain any weight. we had to see a dog digestive "specialist" (can you believe there is such a thing?) and now HB is the healthy spoiled 60lb lab mix she was born to be...i dont think she could be happier

This is my Lucy...never was much of a hunter, unless you consider fiding food that my boys drop under the couch hunting!

She's 10 now and almost blind, but has a perfect nose that is attached directly to her stomach! ....

....And a heart of gold that gives her that pretty color!

7 pounds! crap, ive got a 3 or 4 year old rat terrier and thats ALL he weighs! (i forget exactly how old he is...)

course my Treeing Walker is 7 monthe old and weight 55-60 lbs, he weighed 52 when he was 6 months old cause thats when we took him to the vet....
