One of the best hunting gear purchases I've ever made was a Gray Wolf wool jacket in Predator Fall Brown.

Now I'm thinking of some pants. I'm thinking I could get more year round use out of wolskin instead of wool, but I've never actually seen it or felt it.

Anyone got some wolfskin? Is it a good choice?

BD

It's excellent. Very expensive, but good stuff.

I've got the wolfskin in Predator brown and Predator green. I've had the brown for 5 years and you can't tell it from new. It is somewhat water resistant, dries extremely fast when is does get wet. It doesn't pick up seeds and burrs and is very quiet. Unless I tear/burn it up, I really don't see me needing to buy any more hunting clothes. I don't know what size you wear, but there is usually a sale page on the website with customer returns and in stock items and the prices are discounted pretty good. I think you would be very satisfied with the wolfskin. I have a set of the wool as well, but I picked it up used off of various classifieds over about a 3 year period. Good luck! Mike

Thanks for the response guys. It sounds pretty positive.

I'm thinking of doing the pants up deluxe: double butt, doublr knees, cargo pockets and a bow loop.

If I'm gonna spend the money, I might as well get what I want...

I have a wolfskin unlined jacket and love it.  It's pretty water resistant and like Mike says, it dries in a flash.

I got to thinking about the expense part.

For what I want in options, it would be around $200.

Good grief, my wife and kids will go out and spend $90 on a pair of jeans!!! That who knows if they'll even be worn in a year!!!

$200 for a pair of hunting pants I'll use for years in every weather doesn't sound like that bad of a deal...

I really like the Wolfskin for early season too.  Mine is Predator Green and unlined.  It is very comfortable and versatile.  I use it for turkeys, early season deer and September elk.

I have an unlined wolfskin jacket.  In addition to all above, it works well to cut the wind as your last layer in any season.  I've got to get some pants.
