OK, I'm looking for a new hat. I want something with a bit of a brim, but it can't interfere with my draw. I've tried several in the past, but if my string touches the brim it completely throws me off and I shoot worse than normal. And yes I already cant to about 10 o'clock.

What do you guys (and gals) suggest.

i Like the old VINTAGE "Jones Style Hat" , short brim, they are some great old hats  :wavey:

I have a pink hat with turkey feathers and other cool stuff on it. Bet ya can even find a picture of it on this site. Wanna give me $100 for it? It should look good on you! ...    ...

Welder's hat and wash it every time you wash something else. Hat will be very soft and will fit in your pocket easy.

Tilley! The brim is flexible enough to move with the string...at least mine is!

crusher hat-look at gray wolf or day one camo. Day one has nice ones in wool in asat. I basically wear the crusher if the sun is out or sometimes a bandana. When it's cold I either wear a very thin skull cap with the crusher over it or a ski type fleece hat.

Check noggintops.com like hunter john stated.  I have a wool felt "Lite Felt" packable similar in style of the one that Fred Bear wore.  I think the brand is Broner.I like it a lot.

I don't think I could hunt without my Filson Packer. I have the Shelter Cloth version. Short brim, cool in the summer, warm in the winter, fears no weather.

There are fedoras with short brims. Noggin Tops has a few.
The crushers from gray wolf and day one also get a nod from me.
I wear a banadana usually in the warm weather. A friend of mine did something recently that I thought was cool. He took a boonie cap and just used scissors to cut the brim down to about 1 1/2 inches. He is like you in that he can't stand his string bumping his hat.

I use a couple of boonie hats. One with gortex for cool weather and one perforated for warm weather.
The short brim will keep the light out of your eyes and not interfere with the string at full draw.

Tilley--guaranteed forever--if your grandchildren wear it out, it'll be replaced.

Plumbob

Give crushers a serious look, they are wool, cheap and tough.

Reg - wher do I find this "tilley"?
