Alright... just paper tuned the new bow to arrow... and am needing to build a 185-190 grn head... cause the GT 35/55 @29.5 with 190 grain shoots a bullet whole through paper   :knothead:

The reason I ask, isI noticed on braveheart archery's site (a tradgang sponsor) that the green 100 grn grizzly heads are offerred as 160 grn screw in... would there be 18 grains of glue used in assembling the heads?   :help:    :help:    :help:

Don't worry about the weight of the glue. It won't be more than a grain or two anyway. A 145-grain head with a 42-grain adapter should put you right on the money.

The weight of the glue is negligible.  The deal on the screw in Grizzly is the tolerances are not as tight as I'd like to see on the 100 grain heads and they are typically overweight a bit.  They actually come marked as 145 grain screw ins but I wouldn't sell them as that once I learned they were consistently over.

Grizzly uses a 41 grain adapter to build those.

And I agree with what's posted above, a 145 grain head with a 41 grain adapter should put you right where you want to be.

remember, you can also get 5g brass washers from 3-Rivers to get things "close".

You can also get steel adapters and use a lighter head, depending on how wide of a broad head you want.  IE, a 100 grain head with a 100 grain steel adapter would get you close as well.

I was thinking of a 150 gn Grizzly elgrande + 41 grn adapter... minus some metal to the file and stones should put right there...  But was afraid the 18 grns of glue would put me way over...

Thanks.. I guess I'll be needing to order them and get em flying stra8!!!

Come August, WATCH OUT!!!

Ya can also get some 50 grain brass adapters and shoot 140-145 grain head or with the 50 grain brass adapter ya could go with a short BH adapter and a 125 grain head and get yourself there as well. Shawn
