A while back I posted in the classifieds for a few pieces of bloodwood for limb tips. Bodork responded with a couple pieces. Of course he wouldn't take anything for it (seems to be a theme here I'm finding out) He just wanted to see pics when done. Here you go Mike. Thank you!

Here are a few of the rest of the bow. Hickory backed Ipe with Osage power lam, Osage and Cherry riser. The tips are Bloodwood with a Elk antler sliver on top. The bow is a graduation present for a friend's son. The Elk antler comes from pen raised Elk by my friend.

Deadsmple

looks real nice, I think it's gonna look even better once that osage starts to age a bit. Very nicely done!

Brent, the power lam is not an easy thing. I start with square stock, put a tapered piece between the fence and your stock on the table saw. After your first cut, flip your stock end for end, then make your second cut the same way. Then re-set your fence to remove a piece from the stock that is tapered from zero at each end to what ever your taper thickness was in the middle. I strive for 1/4 to 5/16. Then I clean it up on the stationary belt sander. I screw up one for every two. I'm having alot of trouble making weight with my bows, especialy the Ipe.
I tend to hurry too much in the tillering process.
Thanks guys for all the nice comments. I mostly posted this for Bodork, cause he wanted to see my tips.
It doesn't shoot as well as it looks, but it's ok.

Ya did great Kenny! That antler really looks good on top of that bloodwood. Glad I could be of service. I bet your friend's son loves the way it shoots and keeps it forever. Great job! Mike

Thanks,Mike. I delivered it to his Dad tonight and he was thrilled with it. He's graduating this Saturday. The dad was gonna wait till his party in July to give it to him, but, after he looked at it tonight he said he can't wait to see his face. I asked him to take some pics for me.
