By accident I found an announcement of 3 Rivers Archery that Bear is doing a limited edition of the custom Kodiak take down. I regularely receive Bears and 3 Rivers newsletter but never saw a hint on that.

Kermit, I also noticed that the T/D isn't on the Bear website any longer.  I hope they are just rebuilding the page or something and that it hasn't been discontinued.

I bought my Victor Viking takedown new in 1971. The riser needed refinished after all these years of shooting and hunting, so John at the bow hospital did the work about 6 months ago. It looks fantastic..

Question, does anyone make after market T/D riser copies? I would love to have an "A" riser made with exotic woods.

Let's wait a while and observe how it develops. The Bear homepage currently is not a real improvement. Was already much better in the past. Hope like you that it is still under construction!!

Bear has answered my email. They  confirmed having trouble with their site and hope to get it fixed by the end of the week.

No, 3Rivers is not the only one. Most of the large dealers are getting some. Only 250 are going to be made. It looks like 3Rivers still have about 17 left. I believe that 3Rivers will take credit card info, but not charge it until delivery. I also heard that the first one will ship next week.

We will start depositing some next week. The Baltimore one had a finish issue and we had to take it back down to wood and start over. We should be able to ship that one next week also. We have about 65 or 70 on the floor and are building more as we speak.
