The latch system on my A-mag takedowns is 40 years old and still perfect. The latches on my Greenstripe are 30 years old and still good. Just keep them clean.

I was just shooting my A-wood 2006 with #3 RoseOak 53# at 29" limbs today. That combination makes a 60 inch bow. It has an SBD string and shoots a 500gr carbon arrow. Great combination.

So much great info on these awesome bows guys....

I didn't know that this thread would make 2 pages let alone 17.  That's great.

Just something about that bow hooked me.  I have never seen one in person or handled one, just seen it in a Bear catalog many years ago and it stuck.  I've wanted one ever since.

Instead of trying to shake it, because I can't afford one right now, I just go with it and tell myself that one day I'll have one of my own and I'll be chasing Texas hogs with it.

The only thing that could make this thread any better would of course be.......MORE PICTURES!!!

Look out Hill Boys....we're right behind ya!  :)

Thanks everyone.

At a shoot last summer with my two kids. Two Bear B Mags and a B Wood 3R Riser.

NOTE: The "extra" bow belongs to the camera-mom!

Now I'm REALLY BUMMED out!

BOTH of your KIDS are sporting Bear TD's and I ain't even close to getting one yet.  Do you realize the state of depression you have now put me in for the remainder of the day?

Seriously, congrats on having kids that you can give a bow to and go shooting with them.  You've got it figured out I believe.  Thanks for the pic.

Likin' this thread more and more.

A person can pick up a B Mag and sometimes an A mag for as little as $200-250. Less if it needs a bit of cleanup and painting.  A pair of Bear limbs can be had for $175 or so depending upon condition.

I bought a new in the box A mag for $350 about 2 years ago.

I got a bear A riser from a fellow tradganger i cant remember his name, got some limbs from Jim Gainey of Black Creek bows. I am sold on Bear take down bows. It shoots as good as any custom bow I got.I love it,i will be hunting with it this fall.Wish i had got one years ago when i got started in shooting trad.

Here is a photo of my 2006 A-riser. It is set up with Rose Oak limbs and an SBD string. It is 53# at 29" and is very fast, smooth and stable.
It is one of the "Three Bears" -- the three bear TDs that I have set up, tuned and always ready to use.

That Supreme was nice. I sure would love to see them come back.

I agree!! Would love to see the Bear Custom Shop return with "special order" TD's being made available. Would gladly pay for something that would be uniquely mine.

How long did they make the Supremes? I don't ever see too many of them.
