I have't lost the urge and enthauism to hunt, but as you get older and slow down a tad, your style of hunting changes and you start to look for hunts that are just a little easier.  Sheep and goat hunts are a thing of the past, and good stand and blind hunts are become more attractive to me.

I killed my first deer with a bow when I was 14 -- that was 52 years ago.

I think if you truly have a deep down NEED to hunt
when you are young, the urge never fades.

The goals will change as a hunter matures, but the
basic urge usually grows. Most of us will agree, the kill is less important. The experience of the hunt is what we are after the most.

Hunt them pigs, kill them pigs, and eat them pigs.
That "thump" you hear as your arrow strikes is like the fountain of youth.

you will have to ask someone older than me. loyd
