Hi All, I am fairly new to this great site and have been learning alot about the sport that I started hunting with decades ago and am now finding there is always so much more to learn!!

So.... my question for those that know is this, I am bringing out of retirement a Bear Kodiak Special, #40 @ 28. Mostly for my wife, but for me also, my draw is 28 and my wifes is closer to 25 inch. what aluminum shaft size should I start with to get this beautiful bow tuned to shoot straight and tuned right ?

Thanks  :archer:

For you, 1816, for your wife, 1716's will work...have fun...great bows the oldies.

There are some 2014'S for sale , would those work?
Also, maybe I should ask where to look for a chart for shafting,  spine weight etc?

Thanks

If I remember correctly, likely too stiff...

Kelly's chart is excellent, but is geared toward the hunter so not too many low spined arrows to choose from -- regardless, his site is fantastic.

I would think 1716 - 1816 would be fine for the wife and 1816 - 2016's would be good for you. It all depends on what your trying to accomplish but for general shooting purposes all the above should work fine.
