The best arm guard i've foumd when winter hunting or with shirts with baggy sleeves is cutting the toe out of a knee high nylon....ya that's right...a womens stocking....quiet and comfortable, and holds your shirt or coat out of the way of your string real well....my hunting partners razzed me about it ubtill they tried it....i like the black ones myself....kinda sporty looking!  :bigsmyl:

yeah, they're beautiful, and I want one. over at Braveheart, though, the Hunter's listed as having the stretch cord, but on your site, it's a draw string. both are an option, I guess? could be I'm just confused, too. nothing new there.

Kirk, I think realtree sells something like that that goes right around the coat sleeve. It's like a big sock. Not pantyhose, but hey:) Cheers, Matt

there's that Saveyur rig, which is kind of like that, I think. never tried it though.

guess you could always just rub your arm with a tube of superglue, too.

just a bit outside

Yeah, I wear one pretty much all of the time. The reason is this... I never seem to shoot from the same place, height, or angle twice when I'm walking through the woods. Sometimes I have to adjust my stance and how I am holding the bow just to get around branches and what not. So, most of the time I don't have a problem slappin my arm but on those few occasions when it does whack it good, I'm glad I have the gaurd. If you are getting hot wearing one, try one of the skeletal types that just have three lengths of plastic and are open. They are a lot cooler on hot days.
We should have shotguns for this kind of deal.

I never wore one with a compound bow, and when I bought a recurve, I thought I wouldn't need it.

After a few shots, I went and bought one, but the damage was done, and my forearm was purple and black the next day!

Now I always where one.

Shell

Always, just in case I get snapped and for those shirt sleeves...

I got mine from a cool TG member who does awesome tooling (ClintV) and the only one I use but if I were to buy one,

MikeG or Tim Roberts they both got some very nice leather goods.

I wear mine cause I made to look cool and since I don't shoot great I try to look cool while I do.

Ledo, I think Mike was making both, but once he started offering stretch cord nobody seemed to want the lace.  Now I think he's just making them with cord.  That's the way I remember it anyway, Mike will probably chime in on that.

They are not just for string slap or baggy clothing.

I saw a picture, online, of a fellows arm that had part of a broken(upon release) arrow in it.

It can happen...wear them!
Has anyone seen the picture? I'd like to save it on my 'puter for reference.
Happy trails....   ('till we meet again, Dale Evans Rogers)
