OK, I just got one from Danny Rowan on trade. I do no0t understand how it thread thru and re-fills the bottle. It ends up spooling out behind the reel not in back in the bottle. Tell me what I am doing wrong! Thanks! Shawn

Check the bottle opening. It could have a fish scale or something dried on it & is preventing the string from going into the bottle cleanley.

MikeS

Wet your line first.  It should go right into the bottle.

It is brand new, I am talking about it spooling into the bottle, how do ya get the line started. Do ya run it back thru the bottle? The line was all in the bottle and a tag end with loop was out of the back of the reel. Mike S. PM me your phone # and I will call ya tonight or tomorrow if that would be OK. We are both from NY, I used to fish Tupper Lake when I was little. Shawn

I tried that. It still does not show how to thread the line ontyo the reel so it spools in the bottle. Shawn

Shawn,

There is a break that you have to push down on while reeling in the line, least that is what the instructions said, I never used it. Hope you get it figured out.

Shawn, if I read your last post correctly, you are trying to spool the line ONTO the reel.  In fact, the line is just "pinched" between the two wheels when you hold back the trigger lever.  As long as you are holding the trigger lever while reeling, the line should go into the bottle.  If you don't hold the lever, it won't go in.  Good luck, I think I hear carp rolling...

When I hold the lever back it does pull the linn back in but alos out the back of the bottle and on to the floor. It sucks the line right thru the bottle in other words and out the back of the reel. I get it to rretrieve the line but it does not stay in the bottle itjust winds it out the back. I will take a pic. later and show ya what I mean. Shawn

Shawn, I think you need to wet the string.  Your string needs to be limp enough to "fall into" the bottle.
These are great reels.

It seems you've figured out a way for it to work opposite of how it's intended to work. No disrespect but they are not a complicated unit and without pics, it's hard to figure what is wrong with it.

No, I realize they are not that complicated but I believe it was set up wrong when I recieved it. I am gonna call Mike today and he can talk me thru it. Shawn

Now I am really stumped.  You mean the line is actually going inside the bottle, but not staying inside the bottle?  Is there a bottom on the bottle?  Give me a call, you have me scratching my head!  LOL

HUH? Shawn, only thing I did was attach it to the adapter when I took it out of the package. did not think it had a hole in the rear of the bottle???

OK, I am retarded!! I put it on the bow and realize that the bottle faces me not out the front of the bow. Go ahead and laugh, I have a 135 IQ but sometimes simple things get me!! What a fool! Thanks, my wife is still laughing at me!! Shawn
