A bow for my wife

I need some suggestions for a bow my wife can shoot. We are going to the TN classic if her request to be off work is granted.My lightest bow is 40lbs and she can't get to full draw.I think she could handle 30-35 ok. She is just getting started and I don't want to spend much until I see she keeps interest.I've been looking at the Winn & Winn KAP Evolution II riser and limbs.The advantage of ILF is that I have three young girls that could use it with lower weight limbs.Is this an ok choice or would something else be much better.Also she won't be hunting with this bow. Thanks for any help.

You want to stay with a recurve? How long a draw does she have?

Thanks everyone for suggestions and the link.Vermonster, I don't think longbow or recurve would matter.Her draw is about 25in.Sorry for not answering sooner,I've had computer issues.

The Quinn Comet is available for under $175 and heavier limbs can be bought as they develop their archery muscles. Rhino offers some bows over various price ranges that are very affordable if a longbow is a direction you want to go. Of course there are many low priced high quality vintage bows around also.

Vermonster,do you think the Quinn would be better quality than an entry level Winn & Winn? The W&W Kap Evolution is a die cast ILF riser.The W&W with limbs would be around $200 if it comes with limb attachment hardware,I'm not sure.

The W&W would allow for more limb options and a lot are available used. The Quinns are real good shooters in their own right though. PSE also makes a bow that is available for less than $100 with a cast riser but I am unsure if it uses ILF limbs or not.

How tall is your wife? The shortest W&W bow is 66" I think.

She is only 5'6in. I am glad you mentioned that. I had forgot how long thoes bows can be. A Quinn may be the better choice.Thanks for the help.

Randy, bring your wife to the ASTB shoot at Tannehill in two weeks and let her try some bows. There will be several vendors, including myself, who will let her try their bows to see if they fit.

Doug,I wish she could go with me.She works weekends as an RN and requested to be off the first weekend in May for the Twin Oaks shoot.The new scheduel will come out the week before the TN shoot and we won't even know for sure if she can go untill then.I will be there though and look forward to meeting you and trying one of your bows.I've heard good things about them.You are right though that it might be better to wait and let her try a bow first.We don't have much time to practice now anyway.
