Thanks for all the kind words guys. I've only relived the hunt in my mind about a thousand times over the last few days.

Drew - the bird was a two year old, 10-inch beard, spurs just under an inch. I didn't weigh it but I would guess around 18 or 19 pounds. Because of the area I'm hunting it's probably considered an eastern/rio hybrid but he has very strong rio characteristics. The bow is a Black Widow SAIII, 53@28, shooting easton legacy shafts with snuffer broadheads.

Thanks again guys and good luck to all of you.

The most frightening thing you are likely to encounter in nature is yourself.

Congrats on a job well done!!! Er strike that hunting turkeys is not a job its just plain fun!!!
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Great job.I got one more week till I get to try with my stick and string.

I am gearing up for April 16 here in Missouri. Of course this is always a scheduled day in the woods for me.
Congrats on the beautiful bird. What did it weigh, what type of blind?
