I shoot a Wes Wallace TD Mentor. I love it. I just ordered a longbow from him. For now I choose a recurve until I receive my longbow and shoot it a bit, then I can make a better judgement.

I shoot the longbow better than the recurve.  I have no idea why.

I'm engaged in that twisty road to Rome rescearch, I love both, Longbows seem to be perfered but then I do love a recurve. Shoot Leon Stewert, Liberty, 7-Lakes, Bear and Wing. Would Love to get a nive take-down recurve Morrison, Zipper,Bob Lee,Robertson etc, The list is growing all the time

I have shot both quite a bit but always go back to the recurve. I am now shooting a Rivers Edge Arroyo and I am waiting for my Kwyk Styk with a new set of limbs to arrive. I have always shot a recurve better, but I did have a Roy Hall(Longbow) Cherokee that I shot darn good. I may try to get that one back someday! Shawn

There's just "something" about a longbow, can't explain it.

I have always shot a recurve better, a lot better, but I just bought two Griffins and after 2 minutes of shooting one them, everything else went up for sale. They just fit my hand perfect and are everything I want in a bow....Mike

somehow I gravitated to Howard Hill longbows.  I've shot them for almost two years now and no longer care whether other bows are faster, more forgiving, less forgiving, easier to shoot, etc.   They appeal to me and I know that it is possible to learn to shoot them very accurately and that is the challenge I chose.   I may never get there, having started at 67 yrs. old, but I'm having fun, so I continue.   Meantime, you recurve guys keep going... I love looking at the beautiful woodwork that can be done on the contours of recurve risers.

I shoot longbows cause that's all I know how to make   :archer:

I like the nostalgia of the long bow, but I like short bows so I shoot a hybrid longbow and am n love with it

I own and like to shoot both. I do enjoy hunting with a recurve more, because they are short and easy to hide with. Also they are beautiful, graceful and curvy; like a woman.

I have shot and owned many of both but have setteled in with the longbows. All I own now are HH bows, just seem to shoot them better. The straight grip on a HH just seems to fit me right.

Longbow, it just feels and looks better to me. I have a morrison classic longbow and a new Tomahawk SS and a pearson colt. The longbows just feel more natural to me.

I shoot a R/D Mikuta longbow.

It has a LARGE recurve style grip with a thumbrest just like a recurve which makes it VERY easy to shoot, plus it has all of the possitive qualities of a longbow silence, stability, etc.

Best of both worlds IMHO
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

I shoot a Wes Wallace Mentor TD.I would like to try a bob Lee TD recurve too.
I shoot recurves better than longbows.

I was a recurve shooter for years, then last year I won a Northern Mist Superior longbow at one of our local shoots.  I loved how it shot and how it felt in my hand but after all those years shooting short recurves I just could not get use to the overall length. Then this January I shot and bought a Super Shrew Classic Hunter and it's the best hunting bow I have owned to date. It's a longbow without hand shock but its short like my recurves and man does it fling an arrow.

I shoot both but am more of a longbow guy.I perfer longbows for hunting because they are quieter in most cases.
