My friend gave me a Shakespeare Sierra model x18 52" 45# AMO standard What should the brace height be on this bow.

I believe a good starting point is 8"s. I know the K-mags and some other 52"ers start there. Shawn

I have that exact same bow...Shawn set it at eight inches, and it has been shooting great. Thats the bow I killed the baloon with. Sweet little bow I think(and it was my Dad's). The 8 inch BH seems to be perfect. I tried to find the specs but havent yet...let me know if you do.

I just measured mine....48" nock to nock....brace is a hair under 8". Thanks Dave, now I know what the specs are. Have fun Stoneknife. Wouldnt mind finding one that is 50#. 45# will do I guess.

Thanks Jamie. I can't believe how good i can shoot with this bow for 45# it throws an arrow real good. I'm going to put a new string on it and use it this spring for turkeys. A 50# would be nice.

I know this is an old thread but I just bought one of these bows for a friend and I want to set it up for him. Are you measuring the brace height from the deep part of the inside handle or the middle of the arrow shelf? Thanks. Oh, also how high are the nocks set at.
Everybody loves archery... some just haven't tried it yet.
