I've always used left wing with very good results.  Of course I'm not fortunate enough to hunt heavy game.  Because of all this right fletching talk, I fletched up some El Grande arrows recently with right wing feathers for the first time. To my eye they are penetrating my dense broadhead target deeper than before.  All of my pesonal experiences in the field have been consistent with Dr. Ashby's extensive testing, so I make a point to listen to what he says, and make my equipment choices accordingly.

My hunting arrows for the year were left helical - had a complete passthru.  But I missed ribs on entry and exit as well, so maybe the helical of the arrow didn't have as much affect then (nothing too tough to work against).

For the heck of it last night I took an old Zwickey delta, filed off the edge and then file on a new single bevel, opposite of the Grizzly bevel. Took about 30 minutes to get it sharp by hand tanto tip and all. Should now work with the left wing. Never had issues with the Zwickeys as is but always looking for the better mousetrap

Hatchet Jack , I have been Blessed with a great life , I have had the chance to get to a lot of places that as a kid I could only dream about . I never thought I would get upstate to hunt and I'm really not sure how it happened but things fell into place and I have had the chance and taken it to see a few places . As I write this I am taking a break from my packing , I am leaving 2:30 in the morning for a hunt in Hawaii for feral pigs and goats . The call for this hunt came about a month ago from a friend who has a timeshare there . His wife decided not to go this year so he invited me along to make it a camping/hunting trip . I couldn't come up with a reason to say no so I'm off .   My Cape Buff hunt isn't until Sept. , can't wait . Lord willing I will keep filling in the blanks on my wish list before my birth certificate expires . See you all next week , Fred
