Darn glove crease...

Hey gang.
I have been using demascus (sp?) shooting gloves since I started archery.  I got my most recent one this summer, but already has a crease in it that has now gotten me into the habbit of plucking my string when I shoot, or sometimes just gives me crappy shots.  I am tired of dropping money for a new glove every 5-6 months.  My question is two fold, is there a glove that absolutly will never crease? if so what is it?  Maybe I should switch to a tab?
Lastly...how do you break yourself of the plucking habbit?

Paul Bruner has a instrutional tape out about instinctive shooting where he mentions haveing a habit of plucking the string. He said he just concentrates on keeping his hand next to his face and letting the string slide off his fingers. Neet has a shooting glove that is reinforced with cordavan that I use and I really like it. Get a good smooth release.

Bard  Super glove works for me now but had the same problem before started using them.Beat glove I have found looks like a demascus but with cordavan on tips.Kip

everything that I have heard about the big shot gloves says that they will NOT get a crease...I have one coming next week...

I have a damascus I've been shooting with for years, never got a crease on it, course I keep the string on the ball of my finger tips, not a deep hook. I also keep my hand tight against my face and let my fingers open. It's an older glove I guess. I've seen some with the green lable on them across the velcro strap and then I've seen them without the green lable. I wonder if there is a difference in the two, anyone notice that ?
Any way, I've tried a few different gloves and I do like the damascus, (without the green lable). The elastic is a bit stretched out and I need to get a new one.

Proper back tension will stop most string plucking...there's a lot of info on the shooters forum.

Big Shot Slick shot is what I've used for the last 3 years.......custom fit, and I haven't creased one yet.

I have shot a demascus for years. The last 2 did not last very long at all. It took me about 3 day to get the hang of shooting it but I changed to a Sanders Slick Tab, you might want to try one. I love it. Wish I would have changed years ago.

Try Alaskan Bowhunting Supply.They make a glove out of deer skin body and a synthetic tip, kinda likw mole skin but darn near bullet proof.About $28.00.I switched do it from a damascus and it hasnt shown any signs of wear yet.Im guessing 2500-3000 shots.

Terry is dead on with the back tension comment.

I also have the new Grizzly Premium glove, it's got nylon tips and will not crease.  Also gives a very slick, tab like release.  It's all I've shot since I got 'em.

I'll work on that back tension and keeping my hand near my face.  I think I am going to give one of American Leathers gloves a try.

Bard, I used a Damascus for years but would wear one out a year. They always creased across the fingers. Two years ago I went with a Super Glove with corduvan stalls and once broken in, it works very well and the stalls don't crease. It takes a while to break in but you will love it once it is.  I still keep a Damascus in a baggie in my tool box for a back-up.   Pat

Just buy another Damascus. They cost 12 bucks! That is $1-$2 a month.  Pretty cheap when you figure the big shot glove is $75!

And here I am a tab shooter. I found(personally)that the slick hair on a tab helps me if I fall into a plucking problem. I have just not used a good glove most likely.
Oftentimes when I start plucking the string, I have to literally think the release through conciously. Of course this throws my shots off for a few arrows till I get back into the groove.

Of course, I'm just an enthusiastic amateur shooter, so I'm paying close attention to this thread...
