Eagles Flight quiver question

Got a question....

For those who use this quiver, where do you "mount" it? As close to the riser as possible? Also, do you move your string silencers right behind where the quiver mounts on the bow?

Here's my problem...I've mounted the quiver on my ChekMate bow, right where the riser and limbs connect. When i shoot, I get a "thwump" sound, the string hitting the velcro. Do I move my string silencers to where the velcro is on the bow?

Any help is appreciated!!

If your string is hitting the velcro on the quiver then you have some serious tuning to do- it isn't possible for that to happen unless your brace height is like 3 inches or something.

Is it possible that the string is not HITTING anything, but your bow is merely making noise and you THINK its hitting the velcro??

Brace height is 7.5".
Nope, when the quiver is off...no noise. When its on, noise.

Is your bow a 3 piece take down or a 1 piece?

Make shure,the screw,and nut,are tight.Mine made a little noise,when it loosened up.Also,make shure,it seated on the limbs tightly.Put it on tight,then slide it up a little further on the limb.

I mount mine right at the end of the fadeouts and have no problem with noise whatsoever, full or empty quiver.  Good luck!

Ok, so the string is NOT hitting the quiver.

I was told by Don that you need to be sure that the "arms" of the 'U' do not extend beyond the limb edge (where you wrap the velcro around the bow limb) it should be shorter than the back and belly lams across the limb by a slight amount. You can shorten it with scissors.

Also, you may find it beneficial to use a piece of two sided tape at the point where the 'U' meets the limb of both top and bottom pieces.

CMR, I sent you a pm.

If you put the quiver on a narrow limb bow, it's important to trim back the leather/rubber material so that the limb protrudes approximately 1/4" past the leather/rubber material.
(As Cosmic Ray has said). If you don't, then you lose the lateral tension necessary to keep the assembly tight on the limb.

Using a small piece of double face tape will anchor the quiver more securely in place, but is not necessary under normal conditions.

Does trimming the rubber apply to all quivers (I got a thunderhorn boa small fry)?  I haven't mounted it on my bow yet, just curious.  Thanks.
