Hello all. I was wondering if anyone has shot some turkeys without a pop-up blind and without camo? I am trying to decide if I really need a new jacket for the spring season. Also, for those that wear camo, what is your favorite pattern?
thanks,
Tom.

I used spring green Predator last season and although I didn't take bird, I felt it worked well. I tried a ghillie suit early on, but for me personally, it was very uncomfortable. I may try to find a lighter weight ghillie for this spring. Mike

I went in to Wallyworld the other day and bought some of those leaves used in floral arangments. I sewed them on an old camo shirt accross the shoulders and down the arms. Best two bucks I've spent in awhile the leaves are placed in all the right spots that wont interfer with shooting. With the help of a natural blind, I'm hoping to git drawn.

I use an ASAT 3-D leafy suit. I had turkeys look right past me last spring and not spook. I accidentaly bumped a bird on the way to the car. I stopped and stayed still. The gobbler went back to feeding and I waited for a shot. Too bad the time I had a shot, I missed!
Just one more step please!

Dark plaid shits and jacket, dark wool trousers. Face mask and deark gloves. Like deer and moreso, turks are tuned to pick up movement. Stay in shade, don't even blind when they're in sight, and they won't see you. I presume that hunting ag fields in the South, East and Midwest, where you hunt basically the same place every time out, a blind can be a real help. But here in the West, it's an anchor. Freedom to follow birds that rarely visit the same place two days in a row is far more important.

OOPS! Bad typo! I mean SHIRTS. Sorry

ive had good luck with no blind, khaki pants in oak leaves with a camoflauge t shirt. sit on the shadow side of a big tree, and pick your movements wisely.
