He's not the biggest, but he's the best one living on the farm!

First pull. Hope something bigger shows. WE NEED RAIN!
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

Awesome pictures! I'm super jealous of those mulies! Sure wish we had those in Michigan!

I only hunt public land here in Texas.

Hard few years starting out, but enough time spent off season in the woods has really let me find some good honey holes maybe 25 minutes from my front door.

This has been the most excited I have been for hunting, and I think it's due to shooting trad bows and knowing if I do get the chance to harvest a couple animals this season, it will be with a recurve.

Really enjoying archery these days, something that was missing with compounds.

I found these three spots last year while scouting during season. I left them alone until July, and have had cameras up. I will take them down Labor Day weekend, and then season opener is the 30th.

No bucks on camera yet, but TX public land bucks are elusive. I haven't found their home range yet, but have seen a couple. They come around during the rut, and that is when I will see where they are heading and staying, and then I will catch them late season heading to bedding or feed.  That tends to be a very small area around where I hunt, maybe 50-100 yards from where they bed.

I've got lots of pics of small bucks but this guy is one I'd like a good look at. But this is only pic of him out of several cameras.

Pulled my card and it got a picture of the buck I got this year when I shot it. You can see the buck running off with the arrow in him.
