stress lines in recurve

does any one know if this is a serious problem...i just knowticed it to day it hasnt done any thing to my shooting...and they go across the limb..thanks john

Those horizontal lines are usually in the finish only and don't affect performance, though they can look a bit ugly.  Fairly common on old bows and shorter bows where the limb bend is greater, particularly if long drawn.  And sometimes, the finish is just too hard and cracks as the limbs are flexed repeatedly.  They usually occur just beyond the fade outs where the limb bend/flex is the most.

You might think about a refinish of the bow at some point.
