I've been out stumping and doing some scouting the last couple of weeks.  Lucky enough to find a shed on one outing.

    I didn't cover much land this day. Pretty low numbers of deer anyway, but this isn't a good late season area. Most of the few deer here are just moving through. Big woods on down a ways where most of the deer late winter.  Used to be where I did most of my stumping-roving-/shed hunting etc.....sadly that was sold off  a number of years ago..., and off limits these days......I miss the long woodland roves more than anything , but the all around hunting was always prettygood in that Big old growth woods. Gone are those days.........Enjoy what you have before it is gone my friends......>>>---------------->

It started out as a lazy squirrel hunt/rove....Squirrels didn't cooperate , choosing to stay den locked
Nonetheless , I always have a great time in my proper place . Nature .....

Great recount of a good day out with the bow, and man River Wolf, what excellent pictures !!

It's hot days and warm nights here. Hunting/roving is a bit hard at the moment, plenty of waist high (and higher) grass and other assorted foliage, makes finding any game here a bit more of a challenge. And with all the growth, loosing scary numbers of arrows is ridiculously easy 

Also, with the higher summer temperatures at the moment, when sneaking through the bush one is very conscious of our ever present "Danger Noodles" (snakes). Makes for some interesting and sometimes exciting days out. They don't frighten me, as I catch and re-locate them for people here, but I certainly respect them. But when one has an unexpected close encounter with a hefty specimen, it can definitely increase your pulse rate a tad.

That said though, there most certainly is enormous value in spending that quality time out in the bush with our Creator and a bow.

Always enjoy sharing  my time afield...and seeing other bowhunters roving grounds......it's fun to share these things.

  I'm a NORTH WOLF , and love the cold/snow. Just we seem to be in one of those years lacking much white & fluffy  ......don't do well in heated air myself .

I do enjoy summertime scouting roves .  Even on those I usually carry a couple broadhead tipped arrows for any ground griz  I might encounter ..  (GroundHog's)

......Just something special everytime we walk the wild paths... bow in hand....

Good to see another that respects snakes ...
....Nature isn't just for the things we admire/like.... she's a system, and within it's great diversity lies  BALANCE .....

I agree...nothing calms the soul & mind like Nature walks.....Nature walks with bow in hand .....be mighty special ...be it the  targets made of  fur-fin-feather....or simply  stumps-leaves-twigs. A special place it be......

As mentioned above, I've always enjoyed sharing my wild walks....and enjoy seeing other wildseekers pathways ....The Roving archers world is a beautiful wild place. These type threads allow us to share some of that with each other.....
